talk / lecture /

demonstration.

Seed Scholars partners with ethos-aligned events, festivals and conferences on a case by case basis to offer virtual, in-person, or blended talks, lectures or demonstrations.

Taster workshop.

Seed Scholars arranges for taster workshops for school or community settings who are interested in getting a feeling for what Seed Scholars programming is like. These workshops are intended to introduce groups to Seed Scholars experiences to then assess if they would like to sign up for a full set of sessions.

Taster workshops can be booked as a one-off, or as a 2 or 3 session package.

Term-long Course (core programme).

The Seed Scholars core programme consists of a set of minimum 6 consecutive workshops, once/week for 45 min to 2 hours in duration per workshop (see service topic area list for recommendations on how long we propose different types of workshops to last).

Term-long programs can range from 6-10 consecutive workshops and ideally take place between the hours of 9am-3pm. After school/evening term-long courses are also a possibility.

Term-long packages are available to primary schools, home school groups, and community groups for Autumn and Spring seasons. Participants can book one or two sets, for just the Autumn or Spring season package or for both.

Schools-based workshops are inherently cross-curricular and curriculum aligned.

Seed Scholars prioritises ongoing bookings with groups as much as possible, and will set preference to working with groups who can commit to more durational programming rooted in the research-based evidence that regular gatherings yield stronger and more lasting positive impacts for holistic wellbeing in developing trust, curiosity and care in relationship to self, community and the natural world.

Depending on location and workshop duration, on a case by case basis, it is possible for Seed Scholars to deliver up to 3 workshops/day.

Celebrations Package.

We facilitate nature-based learning summer courses for teachers, SNA’s and school staff.

We have a week-long in-person summer course available through Athlone Education Centre.

We also offer a 20 hour online course through Schooldays.ie.

Both courses are Department of Education approved and upon completion, teachers will receive a certificate and EPV days.

Special projects.

Special projects and programs are available on a case by case basis, to be highly customised in response to individual/group interests and needs.

This service is for community groups, arts/social organisations, or private groups that would like to partner for a specialised project.

Some possibilities include:

  • Family nature connection days.

  • Home or community garden design consultations (focus on gardening for biodiversity & edible plants).

  • Foraging walks.

  • Women’s wellbeing groups.

  • How-to sessions.

  • Partnering with arts or social organisations for workshops on a certain theme.

Resource / Curriculum Design and Development.

Seed Scholars occasionally partners with other organisations to design and develop lessons.

In this strand, Seed Scholars periodically partners with other entities to respond to gaps in existing nature-based learning resources to design and develop lesson plans, workshops, training, visual tools, how-to videos, and other instructional materials that can accompany, support and elevate outdoor learning experiences.
